چکیده

Using previous measurements and quantum chemical calculations to derive the molecular properties of the TiH molecule, we obtain new values for its ro-vibrational constants, thermochemical data, spectral line lists, line strengths, and absorption opacities. Furthermore, we calculate the abundance of TiH in M and L dwarf atmospheres and conclude that it is much higher than previously thought. We find that the TiH/TiO ratio increases strongly with decreasing metallicity, and at high temperatures can exceed unity. We suggest that, particularly for subdwarf L and M dwarfs, spectral features of TiH near ∼0.52 µm , 0.94 µm , and in the H band may be more easily measurable than heretofore thought. The recent possible identification in the L subdwarf 2MASS J0532 of the 0.94 µm feature of TiH is in keeping with this expectation. We speculate that looking for TiH in other dwarfs and subdwarfs will shed light on the distinctive titanium chemistry of the atmospheres of substellar-mass objects and the dimmest stars.

Effect of Induced Dipole-Induced Dipole Potential and the Size of Colliding Particles on Ion-Quadrupolar Molecule Collision Rate Constants

Classical trajectory (Monte Carlo) calculation is used to calculate collision rate constants of ion-quadrupolar molecule interactions for the H¯+C2H2 system. The method presented here takes into account the effect of the induced dipole-induced dipole potential on ion-quadrupolar molecule collision rate constants. It is also assumed that the colliding particles have a d...

Determination of e ω , e e x ω , e B , and e α using potential energy functions for heteronuclear diatomic molecules via spreadsheet program

In order to represent the potential energy function over the whole range of R, many potentialenergy functions have been proposed. In the present paper, we employ many potential energyfunctions, to use Numerov method for solving the nuclear Schrödinger equation for the IFmolecule, as an example of a heteronuclear diatomic molecules. Then we determine thespectroscopic constants eω , e e x ω , e B...

Equilibrium Constants of the Complexation of Molybdate Ion with para-Sulfonatocalix [4] arene in aqueous media

The complexation of sodium molybdate with para-sulfonatocalix [4] arene was studied in thetemperature range from 20 to 40 °C and pH = 5.8 by spectroscopic method in water solution. Thestability constants of complexes were calculated by the multiwavelength analysis of spectral datausing SQUAD program. The equilibrium constant, spectroscopic data, molar absorptivities andconcentrations of all spe...

Atomic and Molecular Opacities for Brown Dwarf and Giant Planet Atmospheres

We present a comprehensive description of the theory and practice of opacity calculations from the infrared to the ultraviolet needed to generate models of the atmospheres of brown dwarfs and extrasolar giant planets. Methods for using existing line lists and spectroscopic databases in disparate formats are presented and plots of the resulting absorptive opacities versus wavelength for the most...
